3. Making Cameras

Once the cameras were designed, I got to work making them. Constructing them out of sustainable materials was extremely important to me, wanting to make sure my project had no negative impact on trees and woodlands, directly or indirectly. This was achieved in part by using reclaimed and recycled materials wherever possible - unwanted pallet wood, reclaimed nails, beer cans for lenses, and scrap cotton and dog food bags for the 'skirt'.

The videos below show the process of making and installing a camera. In this optimal example, not only are all the materials used recycled/reclaimed, but the entire process from collecting the materials to install takes place in one woodland, giving this particular camera 0 carbon emissions in transport. In fact, the only energy used in the production of this camera was the electricity used to power the lights and electric saw.
